buying from apple store vs. online

Pros and cons? Which is better? Or does it really matter?

Referring to a Notebook, but for any apple product for that matter.

Online. Return policies are better. Also the only place to buy refurbs.

It does not matter. You get instant gratification buying in the store (as you don't have to wait for shipping).

If you want to BTO then just do it online as the store you can only purchase with the original setup.

I've only had good experiences with the online store the multiple times I've used it. Then again, I don't have an Apple Store anywhere nearby.

At my store in Indianapolis, they have always had many variations from the base models.

If you're talking about Apple.com and the Apple store then it does not matter because both charge tax. Apple.com has more options but the Apple store allows you to get the laptop without waiting. But, if you're talking about third party online stores then you have more advantages such as no tax and usually lower prices.

I wish I had a local store, but online is fine. Just have to wait and be patient. I almost always BTO anyways so that offsets my for no local store somewhat.
