Buying From Best Buy With FAN #

Hi,

All the AT&T stores in my area seem to be out of stock of the iPhone 3GS.

I know that you can't buy from the Apple store if you have a FAN #, but can I buy from Best Buy if I have a FAN #?

FAN doesn't cause problems anymore at Apple stores.

Today I bought my first iPhone ever. I tried the AT&T store near me and they were sold out so I went to best buy. They had about 12 in stock so I got one and ported my number over from Verizon. They cannot apply the FAN discount there, I had to stop at the AT&T store on my way home and within 5 minutes i was all set.

FAN = Foundation Account Number, it means that your company / group / school has a contract with AT&T that provide you service discounts an other great benefits.

That's what I'll be doing if the discounts weren't applied (I got mine at an Apple Store). I'm just going to wait and see what my next bill says.

I have a FAN account and I bought my phone from an Apple store yesterday.

I was in and out of the store in about 15 minutes total, no problems with the activation.
