Buying in NY, using in UK

Sorry if this is a repeated topic, but I am travelling to NYC in a few days and wondered if there are any stock issues of ipad2 in the city or if it will be easy to pick one up?

Also, will the AT&T 3G model work back in the UK with a UK Data Sim installed?

There have been lots of New Yorkers complaining about poor availability in here so I wouldn't take getting one for granted. There seem to be lots of scalpers about too, so get in 'line' early.

An 'AT&T' 3G iPad is unlocked so a UK sim will work fine.

I live in NYC and every time I stop by an Apple store I'm told I should just order online. I'm not sure if that's changed much in the last week but you could get lucky if you can get in line before the Apple store opens.

Yes, your iPad will work with a UK sim card.

Yeah, you probably would have better luck in the various malls of NJ; I only got mine cuz I was fortunate enough to live a block away from a radio shack that had initial stock.
