So I'm planning on getting a macbook really soon for university. But I'm in Canada - and with the current exchange rate it's cheaper to get it from a US Store or US online store. Is there a way to get the student discount/promotion from a US online store even though I'll be attending a Canadian university? I have a place to ship in the states but in the online store my school doesn't show up.

Also, would a macbook last through 4 years of undergrad? I'm sort of considering a mbpro as well becaues of the graphics card - can a mb handle photoshop/painter/illustrator/other graphic and image editting software ok? I don't do much 3d rendering or gaming.

You *can* select a US school and still have it go through. Check to see if your school has any cross-border/exchange programs with a US school.
