Buying iPad 2 for pick up in store

Hi, I'm currently in the UK but want to buy the iPad 2 for my father as a present and have him pick it up in the local U.S. Apple store.

Is that possible? Does he need to show ID?

P.S. I can't have it shipped because his birthday is tomorrow.

Why not just go to the store and buy one? They are likely to have them in stock.

Best buy allows this. Just call his local best buy and have them arrange a pickup. Remember to pay over the phone. The orders are put into the system.

I was actually trying to get on the Apple Black Friday deal (which isn't much) but I was able to just order it and get it shipped to his home. Too bad the overnight shipping at Apple.com does not consider Saturdays.

Oh well, 2 days late but I hope it will be fine.
