My wife and I have Iphone 7's that need new batteries and more storage. Would like to get Iphone 11 Pro's (256 gb). We currently have AT&T, but it looks like for any carrier (AT&T, Verizon, & T-Mobile) if we switched to unlimited data plans we would lose our work discount. This would cause our plan to become more expensive (currently $101 after taxes).

Is my best bet just to buy the Iphones at Apple? My guess is there aren't any "deals" on latest model iphones?

Appreciate the help! I was caught off guard with how expensive cell phones are when I walked into AT&T Lol

I'm on AT&T and we bought our iPhone Pro's outright at Apple day after launch of iPhone 11. One thing you can do now however, is to use the Apple Card for 24 month interest free payments and you don't have to get approved (if you already have the Apple Card) as you do on the upgrade program. Also, on the Apple Card you get 3% back on the purchase.

I also went from the 9gig plan (with a discount) to an unlimited plan (Unlimited Extra) which is 130 for two phones. After taxes and fees, its about 150 per month. Our discount is not available on the unlimited plans either, but we started needing more data so we had no choice but to move up.

Usually I just buy the phone outright, but I may try the Apple Card payment route next time since it is interest free.

Carriers are always doing the BOGO if you move to them as a new customer. If you're not tied to AT&T, you might look into some of the deals Verizon and TMobile are offering.

Thanks for your input. I did look into Verizon since they had Buy One get one $700 off, but if we chose the unlimited Plan we were looking at ~$180 (included the new phones and monthly contract). Seemed like a wash because at the end of the day our monthly bill would still higher (once the phones are paid off). We don't upgrade very often unless we have to.

From what I can tell the Apple card is a form of credit card no?

Yes, the Apple Card is a credit card.
