I'm getting one from Verizon for full price and then selling off my 4S. Scheduled for delivery on the 19th, I had the chance to get it on the 7th but I hesitated to buy at full price.

From what it seems, there's really no other alternative if you don't have access to upgrades.

You also need to pay the first month of service, I believe.. or you can only cancel after a certain amount of time has passed.

If you have a phone trade in Best Buy gives the best trade in value. I got $317.25 for my 4S and as my contract wasn't up, paid $200 for the new 32 with a case.

You might also check Radio Shack. They were out of stock in store, but I was able to get one in 3 days by ordering in store through their Direct2U program.

Apple's margin on iPhones and iPads is significantly less than on Macs'
If you buy a top end Android device they cost the same or more. It is not cheap to build these devices.
The cheapest I've seen current Air's is $920. A 16GB iPhone 5 is $599.

can you tell me how to do the Direct2U program? and i thought radio shack the price si 699? did you buy off contract 649$ plus tax or include tax already? thanks
