Just wanted to give a heads up to others I was successfully able to preorder the iPhone 5 through verizonwireless.com and maintain my unlimited data. Yes I had to pay full retail but the process was smooth and I got my order confirmation with delivery by 21st within seconds.
I logged into preorder normally and selected my line that had an eligible discount available. From there I kept hitting next in the top right corner until the page of devices were listed with 2 yr discounted pricing. However, on that page in the top left corner there is a drop down menu that allows you to select 2yr pricing, or month to month pricing. Once month to month pricing is selected the full retail rates are shown.
Also it pulls up all your existing plans and unlimited data after that showing you can keep those enforce. You do have to choose an appropriate global data option but I chose pay as you go since I will not be traveling much. The order confirmation still shows unlimited data as well!
Any how I thought I'd let others know it is definitely doable on verizonwireless.com with or without an eligible line. Key is selecting month to month pricing when on the device price page. Hope that helps!
