Buying iPhone 6 out of contract?

I want to pay full price for the new iPhone so I do not affect my current unlimited data plan with VZW. However, I do not see this as an option on the Apple website or the VZW one. Anyone know why?

I'm on the same boat with sprint. I spoke to an apple rep today and he told me that come friday you can pre-order and once it goes to verify your upgrade eligibility it will either allow you to pay the subsidized price if you can, or it will update to the full price.

So i will do that, although I have a backup of ordering through sprint if for whatever reason it doesn't go through.
