Buying iPhone at Apple Store question

If I already have a Verizon non-Iphone, I believeI can go to Verizon and transfer the number to an iPhone. However, can I do this also at the Apple Store (where I would prefer to shop).

Yeah, they can do upgrades in the Apple Store, too :)
