Hi
I was wondering if I buy iPhone 5 from ebay locked to a network whether the network it is locked to will unlock it?

Thanks

O2 aren't unlocking iPhone 5's at the moment. Can't answer for other networks.

I've read this on their website but I thought since it now being mid February that they would be unlocking now. I spoke to a Vodafone sales person and he said that if it is on contract it is free to unlock but I'd probably need the contract owner to place the unlock request however if it was PAYG it would cost £20. I don't see why the people selling locked Vodafone iphones just dont get it unlocked if its free and then sell as unlocked... (Could I not put a Vodafone PAYG sim in with £20 on and unlock it even if it is a contract upgrade?)

As for other networks I do not know either.
