Hi all - i have a question

i have budget 800$ ready to buy macbook
but dont know which one should i get
air or pro

if i buy air now could i use in the next 3/4 yrs ?

and if i buy pro now will it last next 3/4 yrs with update every macos release ?

future /

thanks-

I don't think anyone can answer your question with 100% accuracy but I think the chances are higher that apple will support pro for the next 4 years.

The air had been around for a while and apple may announce a replacement in spring of 2018.

Both machines will continue to be supported for years imho.

I was in similar situation. I recently purchased MacBook Air 13 inch 2017. I didn't buy MacBook Pro due to reliability issues with 2016/2017 keyboards. Just do a quick research in here and you will see what I mean.
As far as air, screen is just OKAY, otherwise it's a great machine that offers better ports selection and will definitely last you 3-4 years.
You can get July MBA 2017 Refub for $800 on apple website, mine came in brand new box, packaging with no sign of usage.

So i will buy pro , cause now if i buy air apple peobably replace it and cross it out the product line , that watse money anyway *

I love the Macbook Air. it's my favorite Mac.
I use a 2014 MBA every day, often all day.
The battery life is amazing and AND it has a REAL keyboard. Can't stand the butterfly keyboard. I get wrist pains.
The Air doesn't have a fake one with a butterfly mechanism that doesn't really work for typing all day for 6 to 8 hours and produces a fake sound you can't control.
I have a Macbook Pro and I still go back to the 2014 Air when I need to do some work.
It's rock solid and has exactly no issues whatsoever. Whereas my MBP has several. Plus it does weird stuff while I"m working on it.

If your budget is $800, then the MacBook Air 2015 probably makes the most sense, as $800 is enough to purchase one new (when you can still find them in stock). Alternatively, the 2016 retina MacBook can also still sometimes be found for around $800 new. The cheapest I have seen the MacBook Pro new for was the 2015 base 13-inch model for about $950 ($1,000 is more common.)

If you cannot find an on-sale MBA 2015, Apple now has the "2017" version in their refurb store for $850
