I am here in the US for couple of months and I'd like to buy new MacBook. I am student but problem is that I am student in Europe so I do not qualify for purchases from Edu Store. Do they verify your student status somehow?? Will I have a problem buying it or getting my mail-in rebate later??

I have a friend here who could possibly buy it for me but he is leaving for school in mid August (I don't know how long it takes to get your rebate) and we are not that good friends so I don't trust him that he will give me money from rebate.

Thanks!

I just purchased a MacBook Pro from the EDU store, and the only thing I had to do was select my school. I didnt have to verify anything.

^ Thanks for the reply! But I hope they won't verify anything when I'll be getting my mail-in rebate for iPod Touch and printer.

Some more experience and advice are appreciated.

Thanks :)

did it myself 3 times, my girlfriends 2 times, my sister one time.

nobody asked about verification and never heard of it (I worked for a premium reseller)
