I am planning on buying a MacBook Pro 15" 2.16. Thinking I should add 1 GB of RAM to bring it up to 2. If I buy it on MacMall or MacCOnnection(which I would like to do to save the tax and use the rebate), they can do so. But will that affect any warranty with Apple? I was planning on getting Apple Care, either at purchase or within the 90 days.

adding RAM does not affect the warranty.

you can buy AppleCare within 1 year of the purchase of your computer. the 90 days is how many days you have of included phone support under the limited 1 year warranty. AppleCare extends that 90 days and 1 year of service to 3 years of each from date of purchase.
