My friend just purchased a Macbook Pro. The free iPod deal doesn't start until the end of May or so but he said that, even though he bought his Macbook Pro now, he can go to the store (after the deal starts) and claim his free iPod.

Is this true?

Also, do you also get a free printer? When does this deal start?

If I purchase online (after May 27 when the deal starts), will it give me the iPod + free printer option?

the ipod has to be with the receipt of the mbp so no that is not true

Can I buy a MBP and iPod now (same receipt) and redeem the rebate once the promotion has started..?

it only works for purchases AFTER the promotion starts.

that info is correct, I've done it twice and the rules of the promo clearly state that the MBP and iPod have to be purchased on the same receipt, and after the promotion date in order to qualify.

And you don't exactly get a free iPod; you get a rebate and it does not necessarily cover the full cost of whatever iPod you purchased. IIRC it covers up to a certain amount.

The ipod is free if you choose the cheapest option. like last year it was the 8gb touch. $199 rebate
