Hello Everyone,

I am close to buying a new 2.2GHz - Core 2 Duo - 2GB MBP before i start university near the end of september. However before i start I'm travelling to Beijing for three weeks...

Is it possible to buy this computer (or similar, still not 100% about the MBP) for less and bring it back into England?

Also, should anything go wrong - touch wood it wont ;) - could i just take it into any apple shop and get it fixed?

I read somewhere that every mac plays in pretty much ever language so should there be a problem changing it from Mandarin to English (just select at start up?)

Any thoughts would be great, going on the 1st of September...cant wait!!!

You would be liable for VAT on import, unless you want to smuggle it in. That would mean most likely mean disposing of the box, which might be a little inconvenient if you end up having to return it to Apple in the UK.

I don't know what kind of keyboard you will get in China (UK, US or local). You might want to research this, too, if you plan on selling this on in the UK later.
