I need an advice.
I am about to buy the 13 inch model, however because I am buying it as a "work computer" through my organization (won't go into details here), I might not have the option to return it / replace it.
I do get warranty for 3 years though (with replacement computer while mine is being repaired, in case something happens...)
Would you say that buying one without the kernel panic issue(s) being solved (yet) is too risky, or most of people don't actually experience it? (I understand that browsing forums is not good place to get the right statistics about the issue...). Or are there people got their machine fixed when they took it for repair?

Well if you do have 3 years warranty then I presume you would get a repair or replacement model if you do run into (for example) the kernel issues, which is not that likely to begin with. So if you are sure that you need/want that machine then I see no reason to worry and would just buy it, assuming it's a good deal. The 14 day return window is usually more for figuring out if the machine is something for you, if you bought the right model that suits your needs the best and so on. It doesn't affect whether or not a warranty-covered issue will be, well, repaired within warranty.

Also there was just yesterday a supplemental update for the 2018 MacBook Pros that according to Apple fixed the audio crackling and kernel panics. Now some people are reporting that they still have T2-related crashes so take what Apple is saying with a grain of salt, but even if they have not fixed all of the T2 crashes yet (from what I could gather, there seem to be different causes for it, so the update might have only fixed some of them) but it shows that they are definitely working on it.

If it helps I haven't experienced any kernal panics in almost a month now.

I did set T2 security to medium after getting two in the first few days though.

It is good that Apple is capable of warranty replacement of their products.
