Buying MobileMe

I have an iPad and no other apple devices and I was thinking about getting mobile. I mainly want it for the "Find my iPhone" app but I think I would come to like its other features. Is it worth it for me to get it. Also, I was looking at it on amazon and it has the new version for 65 dollars and the old version for even less. Will the old version give me all of the same features as if I were to buy the new version?

If you didn't know, the Find my iPhone application is now FREE.
You can use your iTunes account and access me.com/find
setting up find my iphone on your ipad is easy.
If that is your primary use, mobileme is not worth getting.
