buying new speakers

I first wanted to upgrade my mbp's internal speakers but found it would be much cheaper to buy external speakers. Do all speakers work with mac laptops or should i look for a mac compatible set of speakers? I found a cheap set of dell speakers that i was looking at. Would they work with mbp?

yes they should work... any standard set of computer speakers will be compatible if it has a 3.5mm connector
