Sorry for a seemingly dumb question, but do you think the next iPhone will be available at launch to purchase at full price sans a new two year agreement? I suppose the best way to judge this is to ask if the iPhone 4 was launched this way?

I'm asking because I heard (though didn't verify) previous versions of the iPhone were not available to purchase at launch unless you are signing a new contract/extending your old one. I am in a odd situation, as I am still on my parents cell phone plan through next July then I have to get my own, so I cannot sign a new two-year contract, and I have the money to buy a full priced iPhone (assuming they are around $700+tax.)
