Does anyone have any idea how long it usually takes for people to start selling new apple products on amazon? I am trying to see if I can order one before the end of march so I can get 5% cash back on my rewards card

Here it is. Looks like it's a 3rd party and they're putting a mark up on it. It seems like in the past Apple has sold through Amazon, but not until weeks after release.

Apple has never sold through Amazon. Only 3rd party sellers sell Apple on Amazon. It might be SHIPPED by Amazon but never SOLD by Amazon.

Edit for Correction: They never sold IPADS directly. Never was interested in a MAC so I never looked for one.

Thanks for the clarification. I was a bit hazy on Apple selling via Amazon.

Mark-up is not too much, lowest I see if $540, which is $499 + tax. So for all the ones looking to sell for profit, it may not work out the way you wanted. But you never know, we will tell in a few days from now.

Awesome, thanks for the link, yeah I think I'm going to wait on buying it for a week or two, see if the prices go down. I usually see apple products being sold by 3rd party sellers at or below apple's prices, and the lack of tax doesn't hurt either [:

No, I have purchased several Apple products from Amazon. My current MPB, AX, AEBS, Time Capsule and a few iPods have all come from Amazon.

This is pretty much wrong on all counts. I have bought a MacBook, MacBook Air, and two AppleTV, including the newest one from Amazon. They are absolutely an authorized Apple retailer.

As for when it will appear online, no online retailers got stock from the first shipment. My guess it will be up within a week or two as they receive inventory.

I think he meant iPads. AFAIK, Amazon themselves never sold iPads.

Yes, sorry, I meant iPads. Never thought of a MAC because I would never own one so I wouldn't look for one. I corrected my post. Could be in part because they are competitors with their own "pad."

Amazon is authorized for most Apple products. They're not authorized for iPads. http://solutionprofessionals.apple.com/catalog/ (These are the authorized Internet retailers, so it doesn't include Best Buy, Walmart, etc)
