When you buy online from the online store, you can customize your macbook with things such as a faster hard drive, quicker processor or more ram. If you buy your macbook from an actual shop in person, do you still have the option to do this or do they just stock standard versions of the macbooks?

I'm pretty sure the only thing they can do in-store is RAM upgrades.

i used to work at apple retail. they just have standard configurations. you can upgrade the ram on any of the models (if they have the ram in stock). the hard drives are give/take. they do NOT upgrade hard drives on the spot. only if they have a custom model that they carry will you be able to purchase that in the store. so i would recommend if you plan to make ANY customizations to just order online.
