we just bought a ps3 2 weeks ago, and had bought the following games:
unreal tournament 3
Little big planet
need for speed carbon
lego starwars:the complete saga
grand theft auto 4
BUZZ! quiz time tv
grand turismo 5 prologue
out of those games, i would say little big planet seeing as there is so much to do plus user created content is always enjoyable.
and the second one i liked is unreal tournament 3 because ive been addicted to unreal tournament 2004 forever
but the ps3 is awesome

I have had my PS3 for a year and with all the games I have got my two favorite would have to be:
Call of Duty : Modern Warfare - Awesome multiplayer, short but enjoyable single player.
&
Little Big Planet - Awesome all round, create feature is my favorite.
I would have to recommend these games as a must by for any PS3 owner

- Little Big Planet
- Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

Grand Theft Auto IV - If you liked any of the other GTA games, this one tops them all.

I you dont have R&C by now you should really buy it. Its not difficult or engrossing, but its just an amazing game from start to finish.
I've started playing Motorstorm: Pacific Rift and its pretty great as well if you are looking for a racing game.
I would get COD4 for pc if you can. Its much better with a mouse/kb than control pad.
Other than that i just agree with everyone else here; get Uncharted.

Yes. Buy this sometime soon. Its a great JRPG/SRPG. Its sooooo freaking awesome.Valkyria Chronicles
Buy it. The single-player is fun and challenging, but the online is near perfect. Online co-op is 8 players going through a completely different campaign than the single player one, and competitive is 30vs30 with no lag ever. Its pretty amazing. Insomniac has always put out great games, ever since Spyro.
I'll go ahead and add Siren Blood Curse & Dead Space if you are into survival horror genre.
A lot of people forget about it but its there for your adventure pleasure.

-Burnout Paradise, Motorstorm 2, or GT5p if you like racing games
-Skate 2 if you like skateboarding games
-MGS4 if you like third person action/nice long cut scenes
-Resistance 2 or CoD:WaW if you like FPS
-Littlebigplanet if you like games
I've got a lot more, just those are the ones I've been playing lately.

for some reason, i disliked resistance 2's competitive multiplayer. co-op was really fun. but compared to other multiplayer games out there, R2's just seems too average. it was somewhat fun at first but there just wasn't enough to keep me playing. that's just my opinoin though.
