Here is my situation I have a 13 inch MacBook pro 2.66Ghz intel core duo 8GB of RAM and 320GB hard drive. My wife graduated college and gave me her 11inch MacBook air 1.6Ghz with 4GB of RAM 128GB SSD. She doesn't care which one I use but she would like to have a computer to use for blogging and Internet surfing while I am on the other.
I am a Univeristy student. Casual gamer and casual photographer.
I enjoy playing blizzard games Starcraft 2 and Diablo in my spare time and am interested in photography, I am looking at picking up my first digital SLR in the fall. I do not need to upgrade right away just looking for some insight.
I was thinking I could get an iMac 27 inch and keep the air and sell the 13 inch pro.
Or I could sell the 13 pro and get a retina MacBook pro with an external monitor. The retina would be sick for editing photos and diablo would look sweet on a retina but might be over kill plus throwing down money for an external monitor might be better spent towards a desktop.
I love the portability of the 11 inch however working on it for an extended period of time strains my eyes hence why I was thinking iMac.
I am leaning towards an iMac and air combination but I am looking for wisdom from this forums community. Thank you for your time.
