I was about to make an order for 8gb RAM through OWC but I've got a friend here saying Best Buy RAM is same and just get it there?

I'm not usually inclined to buy internal computer parts at Big Box stores.

Good or bad idea, what do you think?

I don't think BestBuy sells the 8 Gigs back nor the 4 gig sticks at less not from what I just looked at online. The only 4gig stick I seen was 227$ by it self so I would just go to OWC to order it.

There's nothing wrong with buying memory at BBY but you'll almost certainly pay more. Most any brand is fine provided the memory is advertised as "Mac compatible." If it's generic PC RAM, some modules have incompatibilities.

I doubt BB is cheaper than OWC, which is $250, and you can sell them your old 2GB sticks for $25 each.

If money is no option, buy from the apple store. If it is, I like Macmall or OWC. Both of the online stores have awesome prices

OWC - catering to Mac users for years
Best Buy - barely acknowledging, and often misinforming, Mac users for years

Hmmmm:rolleyes:
