I'm thinking of upgrading my RAM on my laptop as it's such a bargain right now. Does anyone have any experience buying RAM from Crucial and having it shipped to Canada?

Was there more than just the $13-15 shipping cost added on?

Also, does anyone know how much customs fees/duties are?

Thanks in advance.

There are places you can buy it in Canada. You can even save provincial taxes if you order it out of province. Try NCIX or maybe Tigerdirect.

Or CanadaRAM. Or, if you're thinking of buying from the U.S., OWC (macsales.com) is great for quality, shipping and service. Just keep in mind that you may pay duties and a brokerage fee on top of the duties, so it may not save you much money. Customs are usually just G.S.T., but depending on the shipping company, the brokerage fees can be up to $25.

thanks for the info i was also wondering about crucial.

i think 2gb should be good for me but i do plan on upgrading eventually.
which one would you recommend (there are 4 choices for the macbook...company wise i guess with different prices)?

thanks!

If you are referring to the 4gb kits, then all of those prices are expensive. Check ncix or tigerdirect for cheaper prices, also tigerdirect has free shipping right know on orders over $59. My friend paid $75 for 4gb (2*2gb) for his macbook pro from ncix over 3 months ago. That's a deal I saw and told him about.

Buy from wherever is cheapest.
Don't pay extra for no reason.
