I returned my rMBP to apple after the unexpected restarts and need another 13".
Friend of mine is moving out of the country and has his mid 2015, 13" for sale at $800 (base model). He showed it to me two days ago and not a scratch or bump on it.

Since he is moving out, I want to make sure the rMBP is not a lemon or has any serious issue.. is there a test I can run to figure out if there is any issue with hardware or if there was some spillage that I cannot see?

Nothing you can do about water damage short of opening it up and checking the moisture indicators.

Press the D key on start up and run the apple hardware test.

Thanks for the reply. Anything else I need to check after the Hardware test passes?

u could always buy apple-care so your covered

I am planning to, but AppleCare would not cover any spillage.

I am wondering if any there is a way to figure out if any liquid sensors will hint for a spillage?
