Hi Guys,

i'm a long time lurker in the forums, but just signed up because i need your help / advice.
So a few days ago, my 2015 12" Macbook started to fail with constant kernel panics, restarts, artifacts showing up on screen, etc.
After every 15th-20th (forced) reboot it works half an hour or maybe an hour before the failing starts again.

Normally i would have waited for the new/refreshed MBP to arrive but with this situation right now i really need to get a new one.
I really liked the 12", although i always thought when i have to get a new one, it'll be a 13" Pro with a few more ports.
In my country, the cheapest 13" MPB is at around 2000$.

So my question is, what would you do?
Get a new MBP an just enjoy it (despite the "Keyboard-gate")?
Get a used one and hope for the best?
Get something different while really waiting for the new ones (like a surface or similar)?
Try to get the 12" MB repaired (or at least a quote for it)?

Thank you guy in advance!

Best Regards,
Andy

Fix your current MacBook first, run first aid! reset the pram, even install a trail of a Mac cleaner.
Your 2015 MacBook is the same thing as the brand new one located at the Apple store.

Exactly, try to boot into the recovery partition and reinstall macOS first. This might just as well be a software problem.

Thanks for the tips guys, but i already tried that numerous times.
Out of 10 tries the Macbook freezes 8 times even before getting into recovery or while trying to do anything in it.
Sometimes it is enough to just press a key a little ambitious and it will instantly freeze or just turn black/off.

Sorry to hear that, seems pretty bad.

Back to your original question: Is there any way you could hold out until October by using another computer you own or do you absolutely have to buy a computer now? If you have to buy one now, the 13" MacBook Pro is a great option, and you're covered for four years for any keyboard problems. Performance should be great, especially considering you're coming from a 12" MacBook.
