Hi guys!

I came across a big dilemma today and I need some opinions on this matter. So my school replaced all their old imacs and they are selling the old ones. i went to check it out and an imac 2009 27" i7 is olny for $150:eek:!! The imac's hard drive is removed for security purposes, but that's not a big deal to me. Also they do not guarantee if the imac is functioning or not. However, they said i could bring an external boot drive and check it out.

So my questions are: is this deal worth it? is 2009 too old to use? is overheating going to be a problem with an old imacs?

P.S. I have a mid 2009 MBP and I use it to stream my gaming. It's working but I want some thing that has a little more power, so i can multi task and the stream will be better.

Let me know what i should do and Thanks

If it boots just fine with an external, then $150 is probably a good deal. Plus you could also just refub it and sell it for more on ebay or amazon.

For $150 I would grab all of them, fix them up than resale them on eBay for $400 a piece. :} Hardwares in general just don't break easily.

Agree - buy every one that boots & fix em up - keep one to use and sell the rest!

dang you're lucky lol
I need a new iMac, as my 2007 20" is getting kinda old.
I would love to get a 2009 27" for $500, much less $150 lol
