Buying used macbook, any known issues?

I'm think about getting a macbook off of craigslist, its a white C2D 2.0 ghz etc. now being a conscious buyer i will have a detailed look at it. do you guys know of any known issues that could aries? i dont think its still under warranty so if theres anything i should look out for. i know of the bad seagate (i think?) hard drives that were out in circulation. another problem is that one of my friends has a white macbook 2 ghz C2D and he had a battery problem were the macbook wouldn't run unless connected to AC adapter and eventually sent it back to apple where they replace the logic board (luckly under warranty) but i didnt get the brand or model number. is there anything i should look out for in system profiler? thanks in advance.

Get the serial number. You can go to Apple's website to see the status of the warranty, as well as whether it's been reported stolen.
