Helping a friend buy a used MBPro. Any pre-checks apart from obvious scratches and dents?

I was thinking the Apple Diagnostics (hold D on boot) is good to run.
I was also thinking she should verify that she can log into her iCloud account from the Admin account on the MBPro before handing over the money.

Basically looking to ensure that she doesn't get a dud or a stolen piece of hardware.

Any tips?

* Apple Diagnostics (D)
* iCloud login from Admin
* coconut battery
* check each key works
* EFI password

Shut down (power all the way off).
Then "reboot from cold". See how it behaves.

MAKE SURE previous owner is "completely logged out" from Apple (iTunes, app store, etc.).
