Hey

I was just listening to my ipod and notice this weird buzzing sound coming out of the headphones. The ipod is over a year old so Apple wont help me. I notice that the sound only come when i listen to Billy Talent and other rock songs.

ANy ideas

Have you tried it with any other headphones? If there's no buzzing in the other headphones, then it's your iPod headphones.

If you have an Apple Store nearby, go in and tell them your headphones are buzzing. It probably depends on how nice that person is, but I did that last year and the guy took the old ones and got me some new ones, no questions asked. :D

But my warranty has expired. Will they still replace?

They didn't ask anything about my warranty, even though I went in there prepared to prove it and to demonstrate the buzzing. The near-exact conversation was:

me: Hi, my headphones have a buzzing noise in them.
guy: Oh, that's not good, here, let me get you some new ones. *takes old ones and goes into the back and emerges with new ones*
guy: Here you go! *gives new headphones*
me: Thanks!
