Hi Guys,
Could someone please tell me what I think I already know this app is doing
to playback AVI files?
I've only seen it on a friend's iPad because I like the Apple video player.

It occurs to me that a RAM buffer is filled and converted to a native format block by block as the video is played.
I'm also guessing the right combination of UI tools mocks the
stock media player pretty good.

AVI is just a container format, much like QuickTime's MOV. So, if the codec used to compress the audio/video within it is natively supported, an app might be able to just use the stock media player to playback the content.
