I'm a little peeved that they got rid of this. I might have to get a gold Al Series 2 now. Anyone else disappointed?

Yeah.. i see that but the picture looks suspiciously like the rose gold one... maybe it's the pairing with the pink sport band which, incidentally, is what is paired with the S2 rose gold. Kind of weak that they only give the pink option for the "gold"

Definitely seems to look like a hybrid colour of the two: looks actually a lot like a true rose gold, not the pink from Series 2.

I think it would look great with a midnight blue or new dark olive band.

I'll have to look at it in store, but much preferred the regular gold look. I really don't like black watches but I don't want to spend the extra $$ to get the stainless steel since I'm not quite sure yet how much I'll like the apple watch or how much use it will get.

The new gold looks really bling. I have the original gold shade and it's more of a pewter, a shade that looks really good with black sports and brown leather bands.

I guess I'll have to see it in person. As it is, it's annoying that they only pair it with the pink band. Previous navy and brown looked better IMHO

Apples very finicky when it comes to consistency with keeping or removing certain casings for the Apple Watch and iPhone colors. They also removed the iPhone Product Red yesterday as well. You never know how long something will be in their lineup.
