I would welcome the chance to ditch the landline here in the UK, but for the simple fact that our archaic credit scoring rules dictate that we must supply a landline number as proof of credit !

I wanted to give up my landline, use the mobile as the main contact point and Skype/ VoIP in other circumstances but it's not going to happen because we're so bloody backward :mad:
 
Depends on which European country one is living in. For example here in Finland cell phone number is perfectly valid (except pre-paid contracts) and I remember that we had 20% cell usage 5 years ago. Maybe that's a Nokia phenomenon? Who knows.
