Hi everyone, I’m the solo developer behind ByePhotos — an iOS app designed to help you clean up your photo library and free up storage space efficiently.

Here are some of the key features:
  • Find and remove similar photos: Easily compare and delete duplicates with a friendly side-by-side UI.
  • Sort and compress videos: View videos by file size and batch compress large ones to save space.
  • Swipe-based photo cleanup: A fun and intuitive way to organize your camera roll.
    • Two swipe modes: swipe up to delete or swipe left — choose what feels right for you.
    • Track your progress with a clear indicator — clean up a little each day, no pressure.
    • Tap once to quickly sort a photo into an album.
    • Multiple sorting options: random, “On This Day” from past years, and more — rediscover forgotten moments.
    • Batch clean without swiping.
  • Offline access before starting trial: You can use the app completely offline with limited actions before starting the 7-day free trial — no signup, no internet required.
ByePhotos offers:
  • Monthly Subscription
  • Annual Subscription — Includes a 7-day free trial
  • One-Time Purchase for Lifetime Access
App Store(iOS 17+): https://apps.apple.com/app/id6737446757

I’d love to hear your thoughts or feedback!

Why subscription?
Interesting question — but may I ask, why do you choose to only see the subscription?

I actually offer a lifetime purchase option, specifically for people who don’t like subscriptions. The choice is entirely yours 😊

That said, I understand that photo cleanup isn’t something people need all the time. For many users, a monthly subscription is enough — they use it once to clean up their entire album, and then cancel.

In that case, the cost is much lower than a lifetime license, I just wanted to offer flexibility based on different usage habits.

Oh I missed it. Thanks, that’s good to know—why not put in description as well? Subscribe to ByePhotos monthly, annually or pay once for lifetime.

You’re right — that’s on me for not being clear enough in the post.
I’ll definitely update it. Really appreciate the heads-up!

Spent most of the day with this app. It’s been helpful. Some enhancements I would suggest:
Under the “Similar” function:
1. Undo
2. Being able to set photo grid to full frame aspect ratio instead of cropped squares
3. Additional meta data as caption or overlay: dimension, size, file type (RAW, jpeg, HEIC, etc)
4. Being able to see two photos side by side
5. Larger targets for check boxes and buttons for my fat fingers
6. Put the control buttons in a single floating pallet that can be placed where I like rather than Archive, Delete, Next grouping being spread out all over the screen.
7. Sync progress across platforms, so I can do most of the work on my ipad, but follow up when convenient using my iPhone.

I’ll play with the Swipe function tomorrow.
