Well, I should have posted this thread a long time ago. But guess what? I'm lazy.
I just finished my first Cocoa app. And I must say, the result was quite nice =)
ByteController is a menu/status bar item, that displays a set of 3 buttons to control iTunes: Previous, Play/Pause and Next. It is very simple and does not install any preference panes or any other files in the Library directory for that matter.
As it doesn't have a dock icon (it would be a waste of space), you have to use Terminal (type "killall ByteController") or the Activity Monitor to quit it.
Planned Features:
------------------------
-A contextual menu (when ctrl/right clicking or click-and-hold)
-A quit item
-A preference window
-Hot keys (optional)
-Basic skinning support
-Decrease memory use... Somehow..
After I've done that (shouldn't take long really), I'll stop adding features. The point is keeping it simple.
