In a discussion on another forum I participate in (Cakewalk Sonar audio recording program that runs on Windoze) a thread is going on about when Sonar which is a pc only program will be coded for Mac. It's a program I use and wish it were available to run native on OSX/Mac. Whenever I try and defend the Mac faith I and others like me always get shouted down for a variety of reasons. One of the latest is from a system integrator that sells both Mac and pc recording computers. One of the dings he puts up against Macs is not being able to turn off c states. See this thread and look at post 61 and then post 66 (in addition to all the other blather jcschild posts): http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2048445&mpage=3

Is this c states thing the same as what we know as power saving modes or something else? And is it even a problem for those of us running MacPro desktops? I understand it would be a problem for laptop users not running under AC power.
