I have a Macbook 12 2017 which I absolutely love. Bought it this spring and gave my MBP 15 to my son.
Currently running Mojave and it is working fine as long as I don't have tons of Safari windows open, then battery drains a bit.
Considering Catalina now that third release is out. Anybody taken Catalina yet and can say how performance is on Macbook?
I have great battery life and actually reach the 10 hours promised by Apple so I don't want to jeopardize that or get less performance.

Any feedback on Catalina so far?

Thanks

I've had it running on my 2017 base model MacBook (m3/8GB/256GB) since about a week or so after initial release and have not run into any issues yet. Battery life is as great as it was, and so is performance. I cannot tell a difference.

That said I was running High Sierra before because I've had massive issues with Mojave on my iMac and decided to skip that release entirely.

2017 Mb Base model but for 16g of ram. No issues on Catalina. If anything it feels snappier but this could be subjective.

What about battery life, same? Currently I get ~10h which is the best after my old MacBook Air.

check your read and write speeds. if they aren't around 1300 I'd to a clean wipe and install of Catalina. This made it snappier for me. Also I prefer Catalina due to dark mode.
