Cab sim card be used in older iphone?

I went from a phone 3GS to a iPhone 4. Can I take the card from the iPhone 4 and put it into the older one and have it work? For example, will my older phone have 3G network working?

Yes, provided you have an adapter for your sim card.

yes, but I think you will need some sort of adapter because of the micro sim in the iPhone 4.
