I'm trying to set up airplay speakers via airport express.
I am going to buy an amplifier like a Dayton 150 or the AudioSource Amp100.

What type of wire do I need to connect the Airport Express to these amps?

2 options, depends on what your amp has on it.

Analog
3.5mm to RCA (headphone style plug to the round red and white connectors)

optical
the airport express has a mini toslink port, so depending on the connection on your amp you'll either need mini to toslink or mini to mini.

I would go with the Analog headphone to RCA if you want a direct connection to the amp. You should not worry about sound quality loss. The only real problem you might get is hum, which is usually due to the cable being to close to a power cable or running parallel to some other cable.

thanks guys.

i'm going with the dayton apa-150 so i guess i will go with the analog out.
