i am extrememly anal-retentive about having a million cables running all over the place, so i like to use a cable basket and route cables as described in this Lifehacker article. it works great, but to run the bundle of cables to my MBP from below the desk i like to use a plastic loom and keep them all in a bundle. so the question is, should i not have any specific cables next to each other? my understanding is that audio + power cables do not mix well, but other than that is there anything i should not be doing?
into my MBP i will have:
(right side)
-usb hub
-external DVI monitor
-ethernet
-fw400/fw800 external drives
(left side)
-power
-audio
-apple keyboard (mouse into keyboard)
the left side i would actually leave "loose" anyway as i take the power with me on the road, etc... but on the right side can i bundle together the firewire, monitor, ethernet and USB cables together? i would also like to bundle the monitor's power cable in that same bundle.
