My beloved Lenovo ThinkPad died and I moved on up to a VERY nice MacBook Pro TB 15" and I can't explain how pleased I am with my new machine. I should have made this move years ago, but for whatever reason I dragged my feet.

HOWEVER, I am about to be swallowed alive by the cable monster. I have the MBP power cable and brick, the USBC-USBC cable, the USBC-iPhone cable, headphones, iPhone-headphone dongle, USB-Micro USB cable, iPhone-USB cable (for my iPhone), USBC-USB dongle and a partridge in a pear tree.

What do the rest of you road warriors do to tame the Cable Monster? I have a very nice Floto briefcase that my wife gave me before she passed and I'm going to use it until it falls apart, but I need to find a way to keep all of the cabling/wires in check. I feel like an idiot digging through my briefcase looking for ANOTHER white apple cable. Are the little velcro ties that I see on Amazon the best option? Someone mentioned a "Cable Board" in which everything clips to an 8"X10" carbon fiber board that slips into a briefcase pocket, but I haven't been able to find one. Any other suggestions?

Thanks for any and all help!

I’m a little confused why you need to carry so many cables. Sounds like you mentioned 3 cables more than once and also a usb micro cable?

Power brick and cable is also a usbc to usbc cable. You don’t need 2 iphone cables, just the usba cable and the dongle/adapter. Not sure why you need a micro usb, assume for charging a device. They have lots of lightning/micro combo cables that work for charging either device. I rarely transfer data from iphone to computer especially while traveling, but this cable can do that too.

I only carry power brick and cable, can’t get around that. Also lightning/micro combo cable and one usbc to usba adapter. I also always have the headphone dongle attached to my headphones. Seems like I have the same cable setup, but it’s far from a cable rats nest. Did I miss something?

The dongle below and some bluetooth headphones might fix it, it does for me.

There are these little cable organizer things, like a wallet for cables. They are pretty neat for this purpose. And yeah, that’s a lot of cables :)

I work in an industry in which I am unable to use any kind of wireless/bluetooth applications. To be honest it's worse than you know, I didn't even list all of the network cable requirements that I have to carry around.

The MBP is a great machine, but the USBC issue is a big pain in the a$$.

In any case, it looks like the Grid-It is the best option I have, however the above dongle is a nice option I'm going to look at right now.

Thanks to everyone for their helpful input.
