cable to connect new gen MBP vs prev gen

i'm debating about upgrading to the current gen (or possibly wait for the next update), but am wondering what cables are needed to connect to the tv since there's only a mini-display port.

You need a DVI to MiniDisplay port adapter. (Available at the apple store for $29.)

I don't know if that would work or not, but it's certainly not the best solution. The best cable to buy would be this one, a mini DP to HDMI cable.
