Im looking to purchase a cable to watch data that is stored on my imac g5 through my 50inch HDMI tv? Im a learner on my mac so any help would be much apreciated...

I think your iMac has a miniDVI port so you need either a miniDVI to Video adapter or a miniDVI to HDMI adapter, if your TV supports it.
