Maybe this is just me being daft because I'm still new to Apple but I just got back home and took my phone out to use and on the lock screen at the bottom left corner was the calculator icon.

I entered my fingerprint and double pressed the home button expecting to see the calculator app open but it wasn't.

Instead at the bottom of the screen was the calculator icon and some text next to it saying "arrived at home" or " back at home".

I tried to screenshot it but it's now gone away. This has never been there before and I don't think I've changed anything to make it appear there, so does anyone know where it came from or why?

Maybe it was the Calendar icon?

I tried with my phone and iPad but iPad doesn't have the native calculator app... although I've never seen text along with the icon at the bottom of the lock screen.

That is the "proactive assistant" introduced in iOS 9.
You may have used the calculator app shortly after you came home once, that's why this suggestion appears on your lock screen.

Example: When I connect my headphones to my iPad in the evening, the Netflix icon appears on the lock screen, because that's exactly what I usually do in the evening when I connect my headphones.

I was able to get a screenshot of it from when I double clicked the home button. I couldn't upload the lock screen picture as it says it's too large lol.
