So my 2011 Macbook Pro finally died a grueling video death. So of course I go and replace it with a 2018 Macbook Pro 15" i9, 32gb RAM, 1TB SSD.
Now I am looking at docks for the home office. The problem is, I need the dock to work with non thunderbolt 3 computers and the new Macbook Pro.
My wife has a Dell 5480 that doe snot have a Thunderbolt 3 port.
I have a Carbon X1 for work that does not have a Thunderbolt 3 port.
Will the Caldigit allow the thunderbolt 3 port to be converted to the USB 3.1 port so we can at least use the monitor ports and also the usb ports? We dont need it to charge our laptops.
