In my office at university I have TS2 I use as docking station with my mid-2015 retina MacBook Pro. It’s connected to a 28” HDMI monitor, Ethernet cable, usb3 hard disk for time machine backups, a webcam. Actually I don’t need super fast transfer rates for hd backup. I just ordered a 14” m1pro: can I buy a thunderbolt 3 to 2 converter and continue using Caldigit TS2?
Thanks.

Yes, the T2 to T3 dongle should work fine. I also have Caldigit devices that used Thunderbolt 2, and that converter works fine with Thunderbolt 3.

You can also utilize the eSATA connections on the TS2 to connect to hard drives with special cables that have a SATA3 connector. It should have a double lead to eSATA and USB3 for power for each drive cable.
