Calendar in macOS keeps adding (for random events, not all of them) alerts to various calendar events that trigger AFTER the event has ended. It makes notifications keep popping up in Notification Center and is very irritating. I have to manually delete the new alerts. Any idea how to stop this? I use my Google accounts for all my calendars.

(Also vaguely related: sometimes I can't swipe random notifications away with 2 fingers; it'll sort of pause halfway through the swipe and just bounce back. Most of the time it works though.)

I use the MacOS calendar a lot and have never seen this. I use iCloud though, having moved away from Google calendar a few years ago. Could it be Google calendar settings? It's worth logging in to your G account and checking each calendar to see if it has any notification settings enabled. Failing that, delete and re-add your G calendars to MacOS Calendar.
