he's referring to a calendar not the app
(the kind you setup inside the calendar app, for example, I've got home, work, and vacation)

everything should be synced, it's probably just not displaying
In the ical app, if you don't have a list down the left side . Hit the calendars button at the top of the window
make sure everything has a check mark, click on it if it doesn't (cmd-click on any check will toggle everything)

ok thanks because it's called calendar in the AppStore I wasn't thinking of the individual calendars.
